Baylor College of Medicine Postdoctral Position
A NIH/NCI fund postdoctoral position is available in the Fu and Moore laboratories at Baylor College of Medicine to study obesity-related liver cancer. This position will focus on the role of chronic neuroendocrine circadian dysfunction in obesity and obesity-related cancer, with a particular emphasis on the role of circadian dysfunction in spontaneous development of fatty liver disease and fatty liver induced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We use state-of-the-art technologies, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, metabolomics, CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing and humanized mouse models to explore the role of circadian homeostasis in cancer prevention and treatment at the molecular and cellular, genetic, and physiologic levels.
Requirement:
1) A recent Ph.D degree with less than two year experience in post-doctoral training
2) Prior first author publications
3) Highly motivated to pursue an independent career in biomedical research
4) Excellent communication, time management and teamwork kills
Preferred training background:
Molecular and cellular biology, cancer, and mouse genetics. Experience in biomarker studies, gene expression, animal disease models, RNA studies, protein-protein, and protein-DNA interactions are preferred..
Pay line
The stipend for these positions will follow the NIH 2019 post-doctoral fellow salary guidelines.
