MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit Postdoctral Position

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Dr. Yogesh Kulathu to study the mechanisms by which T cell biology and immune responses are regulated by the ubiquitin system.

The Kulathu lab uses a multidisciplinary approach in their research and employ techniques ranging from structural biology and biophysics to cell biology. The aims of the projects available in the lab are to explore the functional roles of components of the ubiquitin system in regulating T cell function. We are also interested in investigating underlying mechanisms using genetic screens, reconstitution systems and in vivo reporter models that the successful candidate will develop and apply during this project.

The candidate should have a strong academic track record, background and experience in biochemistry. It is expected that the candidate will develop and apply a broad range of techniques to pursue the research objectives and work on multiple projects. The project will involve using the cutting-edge facilities in biochemistry, cell biology, in vivo models, high-resolution microscopy and proteomics available within the School of Life Sciences.

The Kulathu Lab are a fun and culturally diverse group of students and postdocs. We provide a learning, collaborative and supportive environment to work in. Research in this lab is supported by the Medical Research Council (MRC), European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant, Lister Research Prize and EMBO Young Investigator Programme.

This position is available Full-Time, Fixed Term for 3 years in the first instance. Informal enquiries may be directed to ykulathu@dundee.ac.uk
