EMBL Rome Postdoctral Position
Job Description:
The Rompani group is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow who will participate in neuroscience research as part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists working within a highly collaborative international environment. The Rompani group uses a combination of in vivo imaging, mouse genetics, and virology to study how vision is influenced by other sensory systems and internal states (for more information, see https://www.embl.it/research/unit/rompani/index.html). We are looking for clever, motivated people who are driven to study neuronal circuits and are eager to take a strong lead in their projects and the development of their own ideas.
Qualifications and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline is required, as is a PhD or soon to be obtained PhD. First author publications from the PhD are not required at the time of application but will be strongly preferred by the start date of the position. Please note in your CV any manuscripts in preparation or under review. Also, please indicate in the cover letter which skills you have and the sort of projects you would like to be involved in.
Experience with any one of these areas is compatible with the work done in our lab: in vivo calcium imaging, two-photon microscopy, optogenetics, electrophysiology, mouse molecular genetics, viral tracing of neural circuits, behavioral assays and computational modelling.
Contract:
An initial contract of 3 years will be offered to the successful candidate. This can be extended.
