Postdoctoral positions for projects examining T cell responses to viral infection, cancers and microbiota at Washington University School of Medicine

We are seeking for 2-3 postdoctoral fellows to study T cell immune responses to pathogens, cancers and intestinal microbiota. The goals are to understand cell intrinsic programs by which T lymphocytes differentiate into effector, memory or regulatory cells, and define the impact of these programs on antiviral host protection, control of tumor growth and establishment tolerance at host-microbiota interface. We are conducting collaborative research between the three labs of Takeshi Egawa (antiviral, anti-tumor T cell responses), Chyi-song Hsieh (Treg induction in response to microbiota) and Haina Shin (antiviral responses at mucosal tissues) with complementary expertise in T cell biology. We will use animal models (viral infection, tumor models, germ-free mice), genetic and epigenetic profiling, and the generation of genetically modified mice to address these questions.
Strong candidates are expected to have experience in mouse studies, flow cytometry, and molecular and cellular biology. Additional expertise in bioinformatics, epigenetic analyses and culture of microbes is preferred. The positions will be in either the Department of Pathology and Immunology or Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, located in Saint Louis, MO, USA.
