私（Teppei Fujikawa, Ph.D.)が所属するテキサス大学ヘルスサンアントニオ校(以下UTHSA) で共同研究者であるDr. Carie R. Boychukがポスドクを一名募集しています。Dr. Boychukのかわりに私が投稿させて頂いています。詳細は下記に書いてありますが、中枢神経系での電気生理の経験を持つ方を探しています。Boychuckラボと当ラボ（Fujikawa Lab)は共同プロジェクトを立ち上げて密接に連携しています。Boychuk Labでは電気生理の技術を中心に、生体における代謝調節機構を性差やさまざまな観点から研究しています。特に副交感神経系による代謝調節機構に着目して現在研究を行っています。興味のある方はぜひDr. Boychuk(boychukc@uthscsa.edu)にご連絡ください。

以下は僕からサンアントニオに関する情報です。

サンアントニオはテキサス州では人口が2番目に大きな都市であり(全米で7位)、今アメリカで経済的に最も成長している都市の一つです(https://www.brookings.edu/wp-content/ uploads/2016/07/MetroMonitor.pdf)。ボストンやカルフォルニアに比べると娯楽や日系スー パーなどは無いですが、物価は安く賃貸の値段も沿岸部、さらには同じテキサス州の大都市で あるダラス、ヒューストン、オースティン等と比べても圧倒的に安いです(https://www.apartmentlist.com/rentonomics/december-2015-texas-apartment-list-rent-report/)。またテキサスは州税が無いです。その為ポスドクの給与でも余裕をもって生活はできますし、研 究に集中して望める環境です。また日本人補習校がある事からわかるように一定数の日本人も 居ます。アメリカに来て以来テキサスのみで過ごしていますが、非常に生活しやすいと思いま す。気候的には夏は40度近くになることもしばしばありますが、湿気が少ない分日本の夏よりずっと過ごしやすいです。

UTHSAは研究大学院で特にPhysiologyおよびAgingの研究で有名です。我々のDepartmentは Neuroscienceを軸として様々なバックグランドの研究者が所属しており、多くのコラボレー ションがあります。

One postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Carie R. Boychuk in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at UT Health San Antonio (http://physiology.uthscsa.edu/). Candidates should be interested in investigating the synaptic mechanism(s) by which vagal motor output regulates peripheral organ function.
The Boychuk Lab focuses on 1) the role of vagal motor output in the regulation of glucose homeostasis and the autonomic complications that can arise when this system is dysregulated and 2) the influence of reproductive hormones on that regulation of vagal output. To address these issues, we use physiological testing, brain micromanipulations, electrophysiology, and molecular biology.
All postdoctoral appointments are designated as security sensitive positions.
