Postdoc Position Available in Weill Cornell Medical College, New York City
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available immediately in Ching-Hwa Sung’s Laboratory at the Weill Cornell Medical College, New York City. The Sung lab uses state-of-the-art mouse genetics, molecular cell biological, and ultrastructural techniques to address the molecular basis of retinal degenerative diseases including retinitis pigmentosa (RP), aged-macular degeneration (AMD) and ciliopathy (Cell 130:535; J Clin Invest 114:131; Nat Cell Biol. 13:402; J Cell Biol 190:953; Dev Cell 32:731). The postdoc will work on a new project related to the cell biology/signaling pathway/metabolism of cone photoreceptors and the exploration of therapeutic treatments to prevent cone cell death. PhD candidates are required to have a publication record in one of the following fields (biochemistry, cell biology, neuroscience, biomedicine) and strong communication skills. Experience in stem cell cultures and/or animal handling is preferred. Review of applicants will start immediately until the position is filled. The stipend levels follow the current NIH scale.
