Postdoc position in cellular immunology of dendritic cells

An NIH R01-funded postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Yosuke Kumamoto's laboratory in the Center for Immunity and Inflammation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS), Newark.

We are seeking a postdoctoral scientist who is interested in the role of dendritic cells in adaptive immunity and inflammation. We use mouse models to understand how different subsets of dendritic cells induce different types of T cell responses. Our current project focuses on the regulation of type 2 and humoral immune responses in the skin (Immunity 39:733, 2016; eLife 5:e17979, 2016). The modern lab is located in the new Cancer Center building on the NJMS campus and is near state-of-the-art core facilities. Adjacent labs support other NIH funded faculty actively engaged in immunologic research. NJMS is located within 30 minutes from Downtown Manhattan and is near one of the main east coast international airports. Newark is very accessible to all New York City attractions, has excellent dining facilities, nearby housing, and is surrounded by a family-friendly New Jersey countryside.

Highly motivated individuals with a recent Ph.D. (or equivalent) in immunology or related areas are encouraged to apply. Those who will graduate soon will also be considered. Previous experience in mouse models and flow-cytometry is desirable. The start date is flexible but ideally sometime between October 2017 and April 2018. 樹状細胞を中心とした細胞性免疫学 ポスドク募集

ラトガース ニュージャージー医科大学 (Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, New Jersey)のCenter for Immunity and Inflammationにある隈本研究室では、感染その他の疾病に対する獲得免疫や炎症反応が樹状細胞によってどのように調節されるのかを研究しています。主に皮膚に存在する樹状細胞を中心に、我々が開発したマウスモデルを用いて様々な免疫応答におけるその役割とメカニズムを明らかにすることを目標としています(Immunity 39:733, eLife 5:e17979)。このたびNIHのR01グラント獲得にともない研究を遂行してくれるポスドク1名を以下の条件で募集いたします。

• 樹状細胞やT細胞の生物学に興味があり、熱意と自立性をもって研究を進めていただける方
• 免疫学あるいは関連する生命科学領域の博士号を持つ方 (取得見込みの方を含みます。博士号取得から1-2年以内であることが望ましい)
• マウスを用いた実験、フローサイトメーターを用いた実験の経験が豊富な方

ニューアークはニューヨーク・マンハッタンのダウンタウンから電車で30分以内の距離にあり、日本への直行便もあるニューアーク国際空港へのアクセスも非常に便利です。また、日本のスーパーマーケットや日本語補習校も近く日本の方も比較的生活しやすいと思います。生活のセットアップやフェローシップへの応募なども可能な限りサポートいたします。着任時期は2017年10月から2018年4月の間を想定していますが相談に応じます。
