A post-doctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Muge Kuyumcu-Martinez at University of Texas Medical Branch to study the regulation of alternative splicing networks by RNA binding proteins in normal and diseased hearts.

We utilize inter-disciplinary approaches that combine mouse genetics, cell biology, genome editing, biochemistry, and genome-wide analyses (e.g. RNA-seq and CLIP-Seq) to investigate molecular mechanisms that dictate splicing decisions in the heart.

We are looking for highly motivated, bright and enthusiastic applicants with a background in RNA biology, heart development or cardiac physiology. The candidate should be to able to work as a team member, learn new skills rapidly, and have excellent communication skills.
