Boston University School of Medicine Postdoctoral Position
A cellular and molecular biology laboratory in the Department of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a post-doctoral research fellow. Boston University School of Medicine and Boston University are premier research institutes drawing substantial amount of extramural and industry funding. The Division of Nephrology is within the Department of Medicine, whose goal is to understand various aspects of renal diseases, their pathogenesis, effects on various organ systems and has been at the forefronts of developing novel pathogenic biomarker for glomerulonephritis and other vascular diseases.
One of the research focuses of the group is to characterize the pathogenesis of vascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease. Successful candidate will conduct research at the intersection of cellular biology, biochemistry, and analytical chemistry. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team including clinical nephrologists, molecular and cellular biologists and proteomic experts and system biologists of Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine, thus the project is truly of translational in nature. The candidate should be a US citizen/permanent resident with a PhD in chemistry or physics, who wishes to broaden the horizon and obtain hands-on experience in human pathophysiology and work on project with high clinical impact.
US citizens or green card holders are preferred for this position. Self-motivation, dedication to work and enthusiasm to learn are must for this position and a person who can commit 2-5 years for a productive scientific career are encouraged to apply. The position is available on immediate basis.
