University of Oklahomaポスドク募集

Postdoctoral position is available immediately at Stephenson Cancer Center, University of Oklahoma for a NIH and State funded project to study the association of inflammation and breast tumor metastasis and to develop therapeutic for prevention of cancer metastasis under the direction of Dr. Tanaka. Dr. Tanaka is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology, University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, and Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma. http://stephensoncancercenter.org/

Tanaka’s previous studies have established that interplay between breast cancer cells and vascular or tissue inflammation, necessary for tumor progression and metastasis in conjunction with biomarker identification (Plos One; 2010, Biochemistry; 2010, Oncotarget; 2012, J Hematol Onco; 2013, Breast Cancer Research; 2014, Molecular Therapy; 2015, Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology; 2015). Projects will employ a basic biochemical, molecular biological approaches, as well as translational and clinical researches on understanding:
1. How vascular inflammation supports hematogenous metastasis. Previously, the lab has demonstrated that vascular inflammation enhances a chance of hematogenous metastasis and developed the prevention therapy to inhibit hematogenous metastasis.
2. What molecular signatures in circulating tumor cells contributes hematogenous metastasis.
3. How differential tumor microenvironment impact on therapeutic outcome.

Highly motivated individual (Ph.D.) with a solid background and skills in cancer biology, biochemistry, immunology, mouse model of cancer, clinical study and is encouraged to apply. Required expertise includes the following skills, but not limited to: cell culture, molecular and cell biology techniques, mouse handling, protein evaluation (immunoblotting and histology), confocal microscopy, quantitative image analysis, mouse model of cancer, and flow cytometry. Appointee will be expected to participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; developing and evaluating new research techniques and procedures; publishing results in scientific journals; participating research meetings. The ideal candidate should be able to take a lead role on a project and report to the PI. Salary is commensurate with experience.

To apply, send a letter indicating your research interests and experience, a curriculum vitae, and the names of three individuals who may be contacted for references to: Takemi Tanaka, Ph.D., Associate Professor, University of Oklahoma, email: takemi-tanaka@ouhsc.edu
