We currently have available the following full-time Postdoctoral Researcher position at our campus in San Diego, California:

We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the roles of RNA modification in stem cell biology and cancer development. mRNA and noncoding RNA modification, particularly methylation at the N6 position of adenosine (N6-methyladenosine), has emerged as an important research area in epigenetics and RNA biology. My lab identified a protein complex that governs N6-methyladenosine formation. We found such modification shortens the half-life of mRNAs, including developmental regulators, in mouse embryonic stem cells. Currently, we are digging deeper into the molecular mechanisms through which m6A regulates RNA activity, using a combination of biochemistry, cell biology, and high throughout sequencing technologies. Required Experience
Ph.D. and/or M.D. candidate with a background in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and/or animal models are encouraged to apply.
