University of MiamiのDr. Glen Barberが日本人のポスドクを募集しています。当該研究室ではDNAによって引き起こされる炎症の研究を中心に行っています。DNAは生命の遺伝情報を担う物質ですが、細胞質に取り込まれるとstimulator of inteferon genes (STING)を活性化してtype I interferon産生を伴う炎症反応を誘起します。この炎症反応が自己免疫疾患や癌の原因になることが判明しており、現在マウスモデルを用いた研究が遂行中です。

STING regulates intracellular DNA-mediated, type I interferon-dependent innate immunity. Nature (2009).
STING manifests self DNA-dependent inflammatory disease. PNAS (2012).
Cyclic dinucleotides trigger ULK1 (ATG1) phosphorylation of STING to prevent sustained innate immune signaling. Cell (2013).

マイアミは想像のとおり、年中ほぼ夏です。昔のドラマのイメージと異なっていて、治安は特に問題無いと思います。私は五年マイアミに暮らしていますが、特に危険な目にあったことは一度もありません。毎日がリゾート気分なマイアミで研究生活を送るのも悪くないと思います。しかしかなりのhard workerでないとDr. Barber labで生き残れないということは念を押しておきます。

ジョンズホプキンス大学、福永研究室では、ポスドク研究員を１名募集します。当研究室ではmiRNA, siRNA, piRNAを中心とするsmall silencing RNAの生成および機能の分子メカニズムの解明を目指しています。また広くRNA biology一般にも興味を持っています。研究手法としてタンパク質-RNA生化学、ショウジョウバエ遺伝学、培養細胞系、次世代シーケンス、などを用いています。当研究室は2013年9月よりスタートしてちょうど1年のとても新しい研究室です。若い研究室を一緒に走らせて行くやる気のある方の応募をお待ちしています。

A full-time Post-doctoral Research fellow is available in Dr. Engel/Ito lab. Dr. Engel is a Professor in Cell and Developmental Biology and I am an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
This position is responsible for assisting research design as well as conducting independent projects. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to study T cell development from iPS cells and to develop cancer immunotherapy. These basic and translational researches are primarily conducted in murine models in vitro and in vivo, and require techniques in Immunology and Molecular Biology. 
A PhD or MD degree in relevant field is required and a strong background in immunology is preferred. Ability in initiating, conducting, evaluating and reporting of research studies is essential. Experience with tissue culture, PCR, western blotting, molecular biologic methodologies, flow cytometry, and procedures on mice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Postdoctoral for tRNA Biology in Human Mitochondria

A postdoc fellow position is open immediately to study tRNA biology in human mitochondria. The focus is on understanding the molecular and biochemical basis for how aberration in tRNA biology leads to human cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological diseases and aging.

Ideal candidates must have experience in RNA biochemistry, mitochondrial biology, and in basic molecular cloning and mammalian cell culture work. Experience in fluorescence analysis of proteins or nucleic acids, in enzyme assays, RNA isolation, nucleic acid preparation, and kinetic concepts are important but not necessary.

The position is in Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Thomas Jefferson University, located in the vibrant culture of the center city of Philadelphia, USA, surrounded by US historical landmarks. Postdoctoral Positions in Cell Biology & Epigenetics, Duke University

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the Yildirim lab located at the Department of Cell Biology of Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. We are looking for highly motivated and talented applicants who are interested in research involving noncoding RNA mediated epigenetic mechanisms and spatial organization of gene expression in mammalian systems, and the role of these processes in disease and cancer. The applicants should hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent) and have strong training in genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology or epigenetics. Expertise in stem cell biology, imaging techniques, mouse genetics, and bioinformatics are strongly desired. It is also essential that the candidates have strong first author publication histories.
