MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, Kings College London Postdoctoral Position
Sahara Lab - MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology
A Leverhulme Trust-funded Postdoctoral position is available starting from 2014 in the lab of Dr Sahara at the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, King’s College London, UK.
The project focuses on mammalian cortical progenitor behaviour in order to mathematically explain an evolutionary driving force contributing to the cortical size in different species. We will address this question by employing various techniques including mammalian developmental neurobiology, ES cell based neural differentiation, and mathematical modeling of progenitor behaviors. Applicants should have a recent PhD or MD/PhD or expect to have the doctoral degree by the time of the appointment, strong motivation, good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in analysis of mammalian cortical development using imaging techniques. Additionally a strong background in either mouse/human ES cell manipulation and/or in mathematical modeling and programming skills would be advantageous.
Basic annual starting salary from £31,644 plus £2,323 London Allowance p.a..
Position to start Autumn 2014, ideally September 2014. Fixed term contract for 3 years.
