[Research projects]
1. Oxidative stress in cardiovascular diseases (atherosclerosis, inflammation, hypertension, myocardial infarction), diabetes, and angiogenesis using gene targeting and knockout mice.

2. Redox Signaling and cell metabolism in vascular biology, angiogenesis, stem/progenitor cell function and bone marrow niche.

3. Role of copper metabolism and copper transport systems in cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and angiogenesis.

[Requirement]
PhD and/or MD degree (or equivalent) Experience with molecular biology or cell biology or cell signaling or animal study with immunohistochemistry (One of them is acceptable for consideration).

[Research environment] Our research and training programs on vascular biology in the Department of Pharmacology at UIC consistently ranks among the top ten nationally (http://www.uic.edu/depts/mcph/). State of the art facilities (ESR to measure free radicals, imaging, proteomics, etc) are accessible. Chicago is a beautiful international and cosmopolitan city located on the shores of Lake Michigan (http://www.uic.edu/depts/mcph/chic.htm).
