We are seeking a motivated, creative postdoctoral fellow to characterize Signaling Pathways in Cancer Stem Cells in Glioma. Candidates are expected to work closely with the other lab members and coordinate with a number of ongoing/newly-developed collaborations with other labs.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field with strong first-author paper(s) and within five years or less of postdoctoral experience. Applicants should have excellent communication skills in English, and ability to conduct research independently. The ideal candidate would have experience in molecular biology, DNA and RNA isolation, quantitative RT-PCR, Western blotting, RNA interference, establishing and using transient and stable cell clones, performing small animal surgeries, and ability to implement a variety of assays as needed.
Our lab started at OSU in Sep, 2009, and geared up the publication speed in 2011 (Neuro Oncol. 2011 Jun;13(6); Mol Cancer Ther. 2011 Oct;10(10); PLoS One. 2011;6(9):e24217; J Vis Exp. 2011 Jul 29;(53).; J Neurosurg. 2011 Mar;114(3)). Several more are coming soon as in Press and in Revised state. Thus, this position would be suitable for those who seek for independent investigator positions in academia in the next 3-4 years.
