Postdoctoral positions in integrative physiology and neuroscience
The Systemic Inflammation Laboratory, located at the Barrow Neurological Institute of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, has two openings for postdoctoral fellows. The first position is to study autonomic and behavioral thermoregulation in rats and mice with emphases on TRP channels and neural pathways. The second position is to study lipid mediators of fever and hypothermia in systemic inflammation by using rodent models and tissue samples from human patients. Both positions will involve extensive collaboration with other basic research laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and clinicians. For an exceptionally strong candidate, one of the positions can be elevated to the Research Associate level, subject to approval by the Promotion Committee. For both postdoctoral positions, background in molecular biology, biochemistry, neuroanatomy, or integrative physiology is desired. Applicants are also expected to have enthusiastic interest in our research program and strong dedication to work. Mandatory requirements include an advanced degree, a track record of peer-reviewed publications, excellent computer skills, and good writing skills. For foreign applicants, we may be able to use an H1 visa mechanism.
