Postdoctoral Scholar Position – mRNA processing & gene expression
Dr. Yongsheng Shi in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, UC Irvine School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral position to study mammalian mRNA polyadenylation and its regulation at the systems level. The lab uses biochemical and proteomic approaches to analyze the molecular mechanisms of mRNA cleavage/polyadenylation (Shi et al., (2009) Molecular Cell 33:365-76). They have also developed genomic tools, including high-throughput sequencing-based methods, for studying alternative polyadenylation in stem cell differentiation and cancer development. Highly motivated individuals with a recent Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Please send a cover letter, C.V., and names of at least 3 references to: Dr. Yongsheng Shi, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine.
