Position: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neuroscience

Postdoctoral positions are available to study the mechanism of action of neurotrophic factors in the development, maintenance and diseases of the nervous system. The laboratory employs a variety of approaches for these studies including cell biology, protein purification, primary neuronal cultures in a compartmentalized and microfluidic culture systems, proteomics, and the generation and analysis of transgenic/knockout mice. Significant investments have been made in the area of live-cell imaging, and the laboratory has its own dedicated fully-motorized, epifluorescence incubated system as well as a resonance and conventional scanning confocal microscope for extremely rapid real-time imaging of neurons. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a closely related biomedical field and have a thorough background in neurobiology, cell biology, and biochemistry. Applicants must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
