POSTDOCTORAL POSITION available in the laboratory of Jonathan Kaye in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to study a family of nuclear proteins identified in this laboratory (Nat Immunol, 3:272-80, 2002; J Exp Med, 205:245, 2008) that have multiple roles in development of the immune system. Current areas of interest include lymph node organogenesis, selection events in the thymus, and germinal center formation, with a specific focus on the molecular mechanism of action of these nuclear proteins in these cellular contexts. Investigation of the role of one of these proteins in promoting cancer is also ongoing in the lab. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of significant scientific accomplishment at the graduate or postdoctoral level, and a solid background in immunology and/or molecular biology/biochemistry is preferred.
