Max Planck Institute of Molecular Biomedicine Postdoc募集
The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Muenster (Germany) has several openings for Postdoctoral Research scientists in the Department of Tissue Morphogenesis (Director Prof. Ralf H. Adams) and in the newly founded group ‘Angiogenesis in zebrafish’ (Prof. Wiebke Herzog).
Blood vessels play essential roles in vertebrate organisms and are also directly involved in a range of disease conditions such as cancer. We are studying the signaling processes that control the angiogenic growth of the vasculature, the interactions between the different cell types forming the vessel wall and the communication between blood vessels and the surrounding tissues (more information at: http://www.mpi-muenster.mpg.de/ngm/gme.shtml and at: http://www.mpi-muenster.mpg.de/an/an.shtml)
Technical approaches include genetic studies in mouse or zebrafish, confocal and time laps microscopy, immunohistochemistry, micromanipulation of zebrafish embryos, cell/tissue culture, biochemistry and molecular biology.
The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine offers an excellent research environment with strong local links to the Center for Molecular Biology and Inflammation and the University of Muenster.
Core support at the Institute includes service facilities for Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting, Electron Microscopy, Research Animal Units and the production of genetically modified mice and zebrafish.
The Institute offers a very international environment, so that knowledge of the German language is not essential. Additionally Muenster is a very liveable city (http://www.muenster.de/en/) and extra help with German administration, apartment hunting, etc. will be provided for people without German language skills.
We invite applications by enthusiastic, committed and talented prospective postdoctoral fellows who share our passion for research, are interested in acquiring new skills and wish to be part of an international team. Postdoctoral fellowships are fix-term appointments for initially two to three years with the possibility of extension.
