The Eppley Institute is a distinct entity of the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a degree granting graduate program in cancer research. The faculty of the Eppley Institute is generally supported by investigator-initiated grants from the NIH. Support is also derived from a Cancer Center Support Grant from the NCI to the UNMC/Eppley Cancer Center. The mission of the Institute is to perform and encourage fundamental studies leading to a better understanding of the causes of cancer, improved methods for cancer diagnosis, and improved methods for the treatment and prevention of cancer.
