University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Postdoc募集
Postdoctoral Position Available in San Antonio, Texas, USA
A postdoctoral position is open to study the neural circuits of the retina in the Department of Physiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). The position is available immediately and is funded for a minimum of two years.
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD with a solid publication record, strong recommendations, and experience in electrophysiology, biophysics, or neuroscience. Experience in slice recording and with Matlab, IgorPro, or similar will be useful. Good communication skills are a must.
We want to understand how inner retinal circuits shape retinal output. Projects aim to discover inhibitory circuit contributions to ganglion cell receptive field development and function in the mouse and rat and to understand the circuit basis of visual deficits due to diabetic retinopathy, a leading cause of blindness. We use many techniques, including multi-electrode array recording, single-cell recording, behavioral tests of vision, and imaging. For details on our lab’s questions and approaches, see http://physiology.uthscsa.edu.
UTHSCSA is a Tier I Research Institution located in the northwest section of San Antonio. San Antonio is a vibrant multicultural city with much to offer, including an attractive cost-of-living.
