Molecular mechanisms of tumor suppression
A Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Pier Paolo Scaglioni. Areas of interest include: 1. Characterization of the tumor suppressive functions of the Promyelocytic leukemia gene; 2. Study of the properties of oncogenic K-RAS mutants; 3. Elucidation of the role of the CK2 protein kinase in tumorigenesis. These research topics will be addressed with a combination of molecular/cellular biology techniques and mouse genetics taking advantage of lung cancer and leukemia mouse models. Experience in the field of cellular/cancer biology is strongly recommended. For preliminary data please refer to our recent publications: Cell. 2006. 126:269-83; Nature. 2006. 441:523-7. Nat Cell Biol. 2004. 6:665-72.
