A challenging POSTDOCTORAL POSITION is available at the Department of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, to study the role of IL-17 producing memory cells in lung immunity (Nature Immunology, 2007 Apr;8(4):369-377). The lab focuses on understanding the distinct and divergent roles of IL-12 cytokine family members in lung immunity with special reference to pulmonary tuberculosis.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Microbiology/ Immunology/Molecular Biology, peer-reviewed publications, be highly motivated and be fluent in English. A fresh graduate with Ph.D degree is preferred. Prior experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy, molecular cloning, cell culture, standard microbiological techniques and animal handling skills are required. BSL-3 training is desirable but not required.

University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Postdoc募集

Postdoctoral position in Cancer Immunology at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio

A Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine to investigate the functional mechanisms of immune suppression and immunosurveillance against gastrointestinal cancers and ovarian cancer. Current projects in the laboratory involve evaluating the function of costimulatory molecules in transplanted and spontaneous cancer model mice, and regulatory functions of immune suppressor cells such as regulatory T cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells to search immediate potentials for clinical trial. The successful candidate should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree in immunology or a related field. Candidates with expertise skills in small animal handling and surgery, flow cytometry, cell culture, and basic molecular biological and biochemistrical knowledge and techniques will be preferred.

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Deborah Dillon at Brigham and Women's Hospital for a translational research project in breast cancer. This project involves the construction of breast cancer tissue microarrays and the investigation of markers involved in chemotherapeutic resistance in breast cancer in collaboration with oncologists and surgeons in the Breast Oncology Program at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Candidates must have completed a medical degree (MD) and at least two years of postgraduate training in surgical pathology and possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with Excel database management and competency in oral and written English communication skills are desirable; however, specific laboratory experience in molecular techniques is not necessary.

A post-doctoral position is available to study the roles of ubiquitination in GPCR signaling. This is an entry-level postdoctoral position but one year of previous post-doctoral experience is acceptable. Postdoctoral Scholar Position at University of Chicago

A postdoctoral scholar position is available immediately at University of Chicago to study the biology of erythroid differentiation. The studies will address the role of osteopontin in regulating the biology of hematopoietic stem cells and erythroblasts (see Wickrema et al., JBC, 2008, PubMed, ahead of publication). The project will utilize a unique human primary cell model in its investigation of normal and disease progenitors. The applicant should be highly motivated with a strong background in chemistry/biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology. Prior experience in human primary cell isolation/culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, signal transduction and mouse models is highly desirable. Good communication skills in English and basic computer skills are essential. The applicant will have opportunity to participate in other projects in malignant hematopoieis and learn new research techniques during the training period. Excellent organizational skills and ability to pay attention to details are essential.

Molecular mechanisms of tumor suppression

A Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Pier Paolo Scaglioni. Areas of interest include: 1. Characterization of the tumor suppressive functions of the Promyelocytic leukemia gene; 2. Study of the properties of oncogenic K-RAS mutants; 3. Elucidation of the role of the CK2 protein kinase in tumorigenesis. These research topics will be addressed with a combination of molecular/cellular biology techniques and mouse genetics taking advantage of lung cancer and leukemia mouse models.
