The Department of Basic Medical Sciences, composed of an interdisciplinary group of scientists, is an expansion of the University of Arizona College of Medicine in downtown Phoenix. The department is located in a new state-of-the-art research building with excellent core facilities. The College of Medicine-Phoenix is a catalyst for academic excellence and economic growth in the region. The environment fosters collaborations with institutions such as Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), Arizona Cancer Center - an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, St. Joseph’s Hospital/Barrow Neurological Institute and Mayo Clinic Scottsdale.
Highly motivated individuals are sought to contribute to the phase of active growth. Applications are invited for postdoctoral research associate positions in the laboratory of Dr. Sourav Ghosh (for recent publications, use Pubmed keywords: Ghosh S and Salk). The research interest of the laboratory is in the regulation of cell polarity signaling pathways in central nervous system (CNS) development and its abnormal function in CNS diseases such as gliomablastoma multiforme. Experience in molecular and cell biology, embryonic stem cells and/or mouse developmental models will be preferred.
