I am an Assistant Professor recently moved my laboratory to Brown University. I have two active grants to study the role of a cancer-associated gene, survivin, in pancreatic beta cell function and diabetes. I am seeking one or two qualified post-doctoral candidates, PhD, MD, or MD/PhD with experience in molecular biology techniques and work with transgenic mice and interest in the field of developmental biology and/or diabetes. The projects involve the use of transgenic mice harboring deleted or transgenically expressed survivin and the survivin isoforms to study the biology of beta cell function during both embryonic development and in the adult animal.
