A postdoctoral position is available in Duke University Medical Center. Our lab studies mouse somatosensory system employing molecular biology and mouse genetics. We are particularly interested in the neural circuit mediating tactile sensations. To this end, we focus on the mouse trigeminal-whisker system. We have recently generated several lines of knock-out and knock-in mice that affect the development of certain types of touch sensory neurons. We are seeking for a postdoctoral fellow who is motivated to study the touch-sensory behaviors of these mutant mice, as well as to generate additional transgenic lines.
Duke University is located in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, one of the safest places in the US, and is ranked in top 10 universities in the US every year. Our lab is in a collaborative environment where many talented researchers working on neurobiology and developmental biology.
A candidate should be highly motivated and have strong background in molecular biology and neurobiology. An experience in mouse behavioral analysis is preferred, but not necessary. To apply, please send your curriculum vitae and the names and addresses of 3 references to Dr. Fan Wang via e-mail (f.wang@cellbio.duke.edu). Questions can be asked to Hiroshi Hasegawa (h.hasegawa@cellbio.duke.edu) in Japanese.
