Genomics/Molecular Biology in Diabetes

One or more postdoctoral positions are available to begin in summer 2006 to join our laboratory, which focuses on the pathophysiology of insulin resistance and diabetes. Our approach to addressing this important question in human health has utilized genomics techniques to assess gene expression in metabolically characterized humans, followed by functional characterization of differentially regulated genes and pathways using adenoviral overexpression, siRNA-mediated knockdown, and animal physiology experiments. Support facilities and research environment are outstanding. Applicants should have experience in standard molecular biology techniques, preferably including quantitative expression analysis.
